{"id":254721,"date":"2025-09-25T23:08:26","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T23:08:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/254721\/"},"modified":"2025-09-25T23:08:26","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T23:08:26","slug":"sean-diddy-combs-appears-in-nyc-court-ahead-of-sentencing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/254721\/","title":{"rendered":"Sean &#8216;Diddy&#8217; Combs appears in NYC court ahead of sentencing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs was back in his beige jailhouse duds at a Manhattan court hearing Thursday \u2014 as legal filings <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/23\/us-news\/jailed-sean-diddy-combs-goes-from-freak-offs-to-teach-offs-with-business-course-for-fellow-inmates-lawyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed the rave reviews his lockup business class<\/a> received from fellow inmates.<\/p>\n<p>The salt-and-pepper-haired rap mogul, 55, who wore a revolving roster of sweaters over button-down shirts at his<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/26\/us-news\/diddy-trial-live-updates-06-26-27-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> salacious sex crimes trial this summer<\/a>, sported drab Correction Department-issued scrubs as his lawyers made a long-shot bid to toss his case before next week\u2019s sentencing.<\/p>\n<p>Combs\u2019 90-minute Manhattan federal court appearance came as his neighbors at the Metropolitan Detention Center \u2014 including an accused heroin dealer and alleged violent pimp \u2014 wrote glowing letters praising a supposed entrepreneurship class he taught in lockup called \u201cFree Game With Diddy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Combs, sketched here at an earlier hearing, was back in his jail-issued beige outfit in Manhattan court Thursday. Jane Rosenberg<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has showed us that it is the little adjustments to our everyday lives that add up to a big<br \/>change,\u201d wrote Douglas Welch, who was charged in 2023 with running a Brooklyn sex trafficking ring and hitting a woman with a baseball bat when she refused to engage in prostitution.<\/p>\n<p>Arturo Santiago, who was arrested in 2021 after cops found a trove of heroin and fentanyl in his Bronx apartment, wrote that \u201cbecause of this class I have a purpose, something to look forward to every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comments from Combs\u2019 fellow jailbirds were meant to show his good character and perhaps get him some leniency at sentencing.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStart your day with all you need to know\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-module__cta\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMorning Report delivers the latest news, videos, photos and more.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tThanks for signing up!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>A \u201cclass outline\u201d disclosed in court papers included a list of topics that the \u201cI\u2019ll be Missing You\u201d rapper apparently covered during the six-week course offered to fellow detainees.<\/p>\n<p>Subjects that Combs held court on included \u201cNever be embarrassed \u2013 no ego,\u201d \u201cTime waits for no man,\u201d and \u201cTrust the process,\u201d the curriculum says. A \u201cbonus class\u201d was also offered, including the guidance of, \u201ccan\u2019t stop, won\u2019t stop,\u201d court papers say.<\/p>\n<p>Another section of the class \u2014 perhaps fitting given Combs\u2019 sudden fall from grace<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/02\/us-news\/diddys-criminal-case-is-over-but-rapper-still-faces-dozens-of-civil-suits-packed-with-disturbing-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> amid charges of violence and sexual misconduct<\/a> \u2014 was titled \u201cFailure\u201d and included advice on \u201cwhat to do when a plan doesn\u2019t go right\u201d and how to handle being \u201cover budget\u201d and \u201coff schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The jet-setting rap entrepreneur\u2019s neighbors in jail sent glowing reviews of his purported business class. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>The class apparently impressed a jailhouse administrator at the Brooklyn lockup, who wrote, \u201cExcellent class. Keep up the great work!!\u201d in an evaluation Combs\u2019 lawyers posted to the court docket.<\/p>\n<p>The court papers also hint at an alternate possible explanation for the purported jailhouse professor\u2019s glowing reviews \u2014 that Combs has been buying things for his new friends at the lockup\u2019s commissary.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The jailed multimillionaire has \u201cdeveloped friendships\u201d with Santiago and others, and, \u201cwhen able and per his nature, helps others who are less fortunate with their commissary,\u201d court papers say.<\/p>\n<p>Combs faces up to 10 years in prison at his sentencing next Friday for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/02\/us-news\/sean-diddy-combs-convicted-at-bombshell-nyc-sex-trafficking-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">setting up baby oil-fueled sex romps he called \u201cfreak-offs\u201d\u00a0<\/a>with escorts who traveled across state lines.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFree Game With Diddy\u201d earned praise from a unit manager at Brooklyn\u2019s Metropolitan Detention Center lockup.
