With long-term parking nonexistent in Farmingdale village, Ryder Cup attendees have only a few options for getting to the course. You could take the train and a bus from the Farmingdale Long Island Rail Road station, park and ride from Jones Beach, or order a ride through an app.<\/p>\n
But golf fans hoping to avoid all of that have another option this week.<\/p>\n
Just take a drive around any of the residential streets surrounding the state park and you’ll find signs lining the road encouraging you to “park here.” For a small fee, of course.<\/p>\n
Many homeowners who are within walking distance of Bethpage Black are renting out “parking spaces” on their driveways. <\/p>\n
News 12 has been driving around the community this week and an unofficial survey of prices found most spots are going for $100 per day, per car. Not a bad price to pay for those looking to avoid crowds, buses and lines.<\/p>\n
The demand has been intense. Many homeowners said they booked out all of the spots on their properties weeks ago and have begun taking names and numbers to add to a waitlist ahead of tournament action starting tomorrow and through the weekend.<\/p>\n

Maybe a spot close to the course isn’t enough. A quick check of home rental websites reveals residents renting out their entire homes, but that won’t come as cheaply. Entire home rentals range from $500 to $5,000 a day.<\/p>\n
But if you’re looking to do a good thing on your walk into the course and have a few extra bucks to spend. Kids have been setting up snack and beverage stands along the sidewalks, too.
