{"id":255194,"date":"2025-09-26T03:36:19","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T03:36:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/255194\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T03:36:19","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T03:36:19","slug":"meta-denies-report-its-considering-google-ai-for-ad-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/255194\/","title":{"rendered":"Meta Denies Report It\u2019s Considering Google AI for Ad Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.meta.com\/about\/?srsltid=AfmBOoo8zi4X-PrmVs1sUkPn73XRd66kfthFYAK4AJPqzgpdrW_zJ_ea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meta<\/a> denied a media report that it is considering using <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/about.google\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google<\/a>\u2019s artificial intelligence (AI) models in its ad business.<\/p>\n<p>The Information <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/meta-talks-google-use-gemini-improve-ad-targeting?offer=rtsu-engagement-25%2Crtsu-featured-articles-pro&amp;utm_campaign=RTSU%3A+Meta+and+Googl&amp;utm_content=10311&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=cio&amp;utm_term=6943\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> Thursday (Sept. 25), citing unnamed sources, that Meta is considering this move and has had discussions with <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cloud.google.com\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Cloud<\/a> about doing so.<\/p>\n<p>Reached by PYMNTS, a Meta spokesperson said the company is only using Google\u2019s models for benchmarking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve always built our own industry-leading, proprietary ad targeting and recommendation systems,\u201d the Meta spokesperson said in an email. \u201cSeparate from that, we regularly evaluate third-party tools for the purpose of benchmarking, which is the case here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Information report said Meta was looking into using Google\u2019s AI models to help summarize ads for its ad recommendation system, which aims to show ads to the people for whom they are meant.<\/p>\n<p>According to The Information report, this consideration of another company\u2019s technology signals that Meta has seen \u201cstumbles\u201d with its own AI and may be looking for an interim solution until its new Superintelligence Labs team refines its own <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.llama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Llama<\/a> AI models.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">Advertisement: Scroll to Continue<\/p>\n<p>The report said the talks with Google are in their early stages and may not result in a deal.<\/p>\n<p>Google did not immediately reply to PYMNTS\u2019 request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Meta CEO <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.meta.com\/media-gallery\/executives\/mark-zuckerberg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark Zuckerberg<\/a> said during a July 30 earnings call that advertising efficiency is one area in which AI is already changing the company\u2019s products.
