And on Independence Day we show it with fireworks from Carlsbad to Imperial Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Here is Times of San Diego\u2019s annual guide to the fireworks, with your best options on July 4, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the list as usual is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portofsandiego.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Port of San Diego<\/a>\u2018s annual <a href=\"https:\/\/bigbayboom.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Big Bay Boom<\/a>, one of the largest fireworks shows in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>The pyrotechnics are launched beginning at 9 p.m. from four barges anchored off the south embarcadero, north embarcadero, Harbor Island and Shelter Island.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timesofsandiego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2025-Big-Bay-Boom.jpg?ssl=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"601\" height=\"311\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2025-Big-Bay-Boom.jpg\" alt=\"Fireworks barge locations\" class=\"wp-image-326809\" style=\"width:400px;height:auto\"  \/><\/a>Fireworks barge locations on San Diego Bay. (Image courtesy of the Port of San Diego)<\/p>\n<p>The most popular areas to watch are at Shelter Island, Spanish Landing Park, Harbor Island, Embarcadero Parks North and South, Seaport Village, Cesar Chavez Park, and the Coronado Ferry Landing. .<\/p>\n<p>Make sure to arrive early, bring a lawn chair and tune a radio to the musical simulcast on KGB 101.5 FM radio.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To ease the traffic, the <a href=\"http:\/\/sdmts.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Metropolitan Transit System<\/a> is scheduling trolleys on the Green and Blue lines every 15 minutes before the start of fireworks and after the big boom. Complete holiday schedules are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdmts.com\/rider-info\/events\/big-bay-boom\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">available online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Big Bay Boom\u00a0has taken place every year since 2001, except for a pause in 2020 due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Port of San Diego is proud to sponsor the\u00a0Big Bay Boom\u00a0and invites San Diegans and visitors to enjoy this incredible celebration,\u201d said Port Chairman Rafael Castellanos. \u201cThe\u00a0Big Bay Boom\u00a0is one of the port\u2019s iconic holiday events and is a significant economic stimulus for local businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other fireworks around the county<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chulavistaca.gov\/Home\/Components\/Calendar\/Event\/35962\/2854?curm=7&amp;cury=2025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chula Vista<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 Fireworks at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center begin at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coronado.ca.us\/1045\/Coronado-Fourth-of-July\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Coronado<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks over Glorietta Bay begin at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.elcajon.gov\/discover-el-cajon\/events\/fourth-of-july\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>El Cajon<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks at Kennedy Park begin at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/artcenter.org\/event\/60th-annual-independence-day-festival\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Escondido<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 Fireworks over Grape Day Park begin at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ibparksandrec.org\/578\/4th-of-July-Celebration\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Imperial Beach<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks over the ocean are visible from the pier plaza from 9 p.m. to 9:20 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ljshoreshotel.com\/july4droneshow\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>La Jolla<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 An environmentally friendly drone show sponsored by the La Jolla Beach &amp; Tennis Club begins at 9 p.m. and is best viewed from Kellogg Park.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legoland.com\/california\/things-to-do\/seasonal-events\/red-white-boom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Legoland California<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 Fireworks over DUPLO Playtown begin at 8:45 p.m. for younger patriots.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spiritofthefourth.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Rancho Bernardo<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks at Rancho Bernardo High School begin at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/poway.org\/calendar.aspx?view=list&amp;year=2025&amp;month=7&amp;day=4&amp;CID=26,68,23,25,19,22\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Poway<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks at 9 p.m. cap an old-fashioned July 4th celebration at Old Poway Park.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdfair.com\/events\/2025\/fireworks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>San Diego County Fair<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks beginning at 9 p.m. are best seen from the grandstand.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.san-marcos.net\/Home\/Components\/Calendar\/Event\/10058\/5347?curm=7&amp;cury=2024\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Marcos<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 Fireworks over Bradley Park begin at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofsanteeca.gov\/calendar\/events\/santee-salutes\/45842\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Santee<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 Fireworks at Town Center Community Park East begin at 9 p.m. On-site parking must be purchased in advance, or there is a free shuttle from the Costco lot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ScrippsMesaFireworks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Scripps Mesa<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks at Wangenheim Middle School begin at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/seaworld.com\/san-diego\/events\/fourth-of-july-celebration\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Seaworld San Diego<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks over San Diego Bay begin at 9:30 p.m. with best viewing from inside the theme park.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vista.gov\/departments\/recreation-comm-services\/independence-day-celebration\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Vista<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 Fireworks over the Moonlight Amphitheatre\u00a0begin at 9 p.m. There is a $5 entrance fee.<\/p>\n<p>Have we missed a fireworks display?
