Every time a case goes cold, a family is left with an immeasurable amount of pain. There are over 60 unsolved cold cases in San Antonio.

On May 26, 1990, 35-year-old Antoinette Jordan was found dead under the North Walters Bridge. She had been shot, and her clothes were left disarrayed.

Jordan left behind 10 children. Her son Trevin Jordan was just 8-years-old when his mother was murdered. Trevin and his siblings say they’ve gone to SAPD determined to find out what happened to their mother, but all they have received is animosity.

“They were asking me why I just pop up,” Trevin Jordan said. “Why did I show up? I’m like this is about my mother. Her case is still open.”

In his quest for answers Trevin sent a public information request to the Bexar County Examiner’s Office requesting his mother’s autopsy report.

“The San Antonio Police Department along with the Medical Examiner’s office have now petitioned the Attorney General of the State of Texas to block my freedom information request,” Trevin Jordan said.

Antoinette’s murder is one of dozens of unsolved cold cases in San Antonio. Weldon Perry was shot on April 19, 1991, when he answered a knock at his apartment door. His sister Sherry Perry says he was killed the day he was supposed to appear in divorce court.

“He was executed from behind,” Sherry Perry said. “Twice in the head and once in the back. Courts at 9 and he’s dead at 7. This makes no sense. He never made it. So, she was awarded in court by default because he never showed. But he was deceased.”

“We reached out to SAPD about both of these cases and were told there are no updates on either case. We also asked why the department is trying to keep Antoinette Jordan’s autopsy report from her family. They declined to comment.

SAN ANTONIO, Tx — September is National Cold Case Awareness Month.
