{"id":255728,"date":"2025-09-26T08:46:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T08:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/255728\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T08:46:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T08:46:10","slug":"jerry-bruckheimer-hints-at-new-f1-movie-top-gun-3-at-ent-tech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/255728\/","title":{"rendered":"Jerry Bruckheimer Hints at New &#8216;F1&#8242; Movie,&#8217; &#8216;Top Gun&#8217; 3 at Ent &#038; Tech"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/jerry-bruckheimer\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jerry-bruckheimer\" data-tag=\"jerry-bruckheimer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jerry Bruckheimer<\/a> dropped hints about a possible followup to \u201cF1: The Movie,\u201d \u201cTop Gun 3\u201d and a new \u201cPirates of the Caribbean\u201d installment during his conversation Thursday at the Variety Entertainment &amp; Technology Summit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBut mostly the veteran producer spent his wide-ranging conversation with Variety\u2018s Clayton Davis explaining the job that is often hard to define \u2014 the role of a producer \u2014 and discussing the state of the film business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBruckheimer fielded a blockbuster this summer with director Joseph Kosinski, Apple and Warner Bros. with \u201cF1: The Movie.\u201d Many saw the film as a risk for the U.S. market given that Formula 1 racing is not nearly as popular as it is in Europe. But that\u2019s precisely why it clicked at America\u2019s multiplexes, Bruckheimer said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt gave you a great ride and you got immersed inside this world that you knew nothing about. And when you walked out, you knew a lot more about what these drivers go through. They\u2019re some of the greatest athletes in the world. There\u2019s only 20 of them,\u201d Bruckheimer told Davis. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tStars Brad Pitt and Damson Idris \u201ctrained for four months just to be able to drive these cars. That\u2019s how difficult they are to drive. And they\u2019re going 220 miles an hour. Our guys were only going about 180. But just the speed and the technology and the things that they did to make that movie as good as it turned out \u2014 we gotta hand it to our actors who work so hard to do it,\u201d Bruckheimer said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBruckheimer gave credit to Kosinski and to Apple for pursuing camera innovations that allowed the director to capture the incredible racing footage that made \u201cF1\u201d so satisfying as a moviegoing experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cJoe is trained as an engineer and an architect, and he is so precise about everything,\u201d Bruckheimer said. \u201cHe loves our business, he loves telling stories. He\u2019s a phenomenal technician looking at 16 different camera angles on that car, four at a time. They developed new technology so we could put these cameras on the car. The camera was half the size of the cameras that we used in [2022\u2019s} \u201cTop Gun\u201d Maverick.\u201d And that\u2019s such an interesting way of looking at coming inside a world with, takes you inside this phenomenal sport and makes you almost a part of it. You felt like you were driving those cars the way Joe designed it and photographed it along with [cinematographer] Claudio Miranda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cF1: The Movie\u201d was released in late June and has grossed $624 million worldwide. All of that investment paid off in giving movie fans a reason to see \u201cF1\u201d as a cinema event, the producer said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s up to us that are in this industry to make entertainment that people want to leave their home and go out and see,\u201d Bruckheimer said. \u201cWe all have kitchens in our houses, right? But we all like to go out to dinner. But you want a good meal and we gotta give \u2019em good meals. And the more we have our great writers, our great actors, our great directors do really hard work to bring something to audiences that they want to go see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTo that end, Bruckheimer recommends hiring a driven actor such as \u201cF1\u201d star Pitt or Tom Cruise, his \u201cTop Gun\u201d collaborator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWhen you work with Tom or with Brad, they\u2019re so value added \u2019cause they just want to win. They want to make a great movie. They want to have a great performance. They want to make sure that they can promote the movie, that audiences will love it. They just wanna win,\u201d Bruckheimer said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDavis worked hard to draw out movie scoops from Bruckheimer. The producer didn\u2019t give up much but he nodded to a few high-profile prospects among what he said were about 30 projects in various stages of development. \u201cWe\u2019re developing another \u2018Top Gun.\u2019 Hopefully we\u2019ll make another \u2018F1.\u2019 We\u2019re working on another \u2018Pirates,\u2019 \u201d Bruckheimer said. \u201cWe\u2019re working on a lot of different movies that have become successful and hopefully we can get \u2019em all made.\u201d (Davis was quick to quip, \u201cAre we going to call it \u2018F2?\u2019)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBruckheimer has a long resume in film and TV that includes a slew of notable pics and cultural touchstones from the 1980s to the present day: \u201cAmerican Gigolo,\u201d \u201cFlashdance,\u201d \u201cBeverly Hills Cop,\u201d \u201cBad Boys,\u201d \u201cTop Gun,\u201d \u201cArmageddon,\u201d \u201cPearl Harbor,\u201d \u201cThe Rock,\u201d \u201cBlack Hawk Down,\u201d \u201cNational Treasure,\u201d \u201cCSI,\u201d \u201cThe Amazing Race,\u201d \u201cCold Case,\u201d \u201cWithout a Trace\u201d and \u201cFire Country.\u201d At this stage of his career, Bruckheimer has nothing left to prove. But he closed his time on stage with a heartfelt, Capra-esque explanation of why he keeps doing the hands-on work of making movies and TV shows after five decades in the trenches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s the greatest thing to do, to entertain people. It\u2019s not about the money anymore. It\u2019s about the smile you put on people\u2019s faces, the fact that you move them,\u201d Bruckheimer explained. \u201cYou take \u2019em away from their lives for a couple of hours, and make them feel better or feel something when they walk out. And that\u2019s the pleasure I get when I stand in the back of an audience and watch them watch one of our films where people are actually moved. And that\u2019s what you try to accomplish.
