{"id":256190,"date":"2025-09-26T13:28:13","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T13:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/256190\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T13:28:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T13:28:13","slug":"where-freeways-are-closed-over-weekend-of-sept-26-29-in-metro-phoenix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/256190\/","title":{"rendered":"Where freeways are closed over weekend of Sept. 26-29 in metro Phoenix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"position:absolute;top:0;left:0;right:0;bottom:0;width:100%;height:100%;z-index:2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/83514198007-getty-images-2197879097.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"vidplayicon\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gannett-cdn.com\/appservices\/universal-web\/universal\/icons\/icon-play-alt-white.svg\" alt=\"play\" style=\"height:40px;margin:auto 18px auto 27px;width:40px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Phoenix-area freeways: Everything you need to know to get around<\/p>\n<p>Several freeways traverse the Phoenix area, including many state routes that loop around the Valley, providing easy access to the different regions.<\/p>\n<p>The Republic<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the possibility of rain this weekend, metro Phoenix motorists will have to contend with some planned freeway road closures.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Schedules are subject to change due to rain,&#8221; read a statement by the Arizona Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n<p>The department plans and constructs new freeways, additional lanes and other improvements in the Phoenix area as part of the Regional Transportation Plan for the Maricopa County region.<\/p>\n<p>For real-time highway conditions, drivers should check\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/az511.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">az511.gov<\/a>, the az511 app or call 511.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the scheduled closures for Sept. 26-29, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Northbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway)<\/p>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> 10 p.m. Sept. 26 to 5 a.m. Sept. 29.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where:<\/strong> Closed between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive\/Pima Road in Scottsdale; on-ramps at Via De Ventura and 90th Street will also be closed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why:<\/strong> Widening project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Detours:<\/strong> Consider alternate routes, including westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to northbound State Route 51 to reach Loop 101.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also:<\/strong> The southbound Loop 101 frontage road will be closed from 9 p.m. Sept. 26 to 10 a.m. Sept. 27 between Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Raintree Drive for sign work.<\/p>\n<p>Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)<\/p>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> 10 p.m. Sept. 26 to 5 a.m. Sept. 29.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where:<\/strong> Closed between Arizona Avenue and Price Road in Chandler; on-ramps at Gilbert, Cooper and McQueen roads will also be closed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why:<\/strong> For bridge work as part of a widening project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Detours:<\/strong> Alternate routes include westbound U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway).
