Influencer Paige Spiranac defended Bryson DeChambeau after Golf Channel\u2019s Brandel Chamblee ripped the American star while on-air at the 2025 Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Brandel said he was disappointed that DeChambeau wanted to talk about his YouTube channel instead of the tournament, which got underway Friday at Bethpage Black in New York.<\/p>\n

The golf pundit threw out a few insults, saying that DeChambeau is an \u201codd duck\u201d who will be \u201cdifficult\u201d to be paired with because he\u2019s a captain\u2019s nightmare. Brandel added that DeChambeau\u2019s \u201cdubious\u201d YouTube metrics were generated by bots.<\/p>\n

Spiranac took exception to Chamblee\u2019s choice words about DeChambeau.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrandel saying Bryson is a \u2018captain\u2019s nightmare\u2019 is such a weird take,\u201d Spiranac wrote<\/a> on X. \u201cHe\u2019s the perfect person for this type of team event. He gets the people going! Will be fun to watch his matches this week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spiranac added<\/a> that Chamblee blocked her on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s trying to drum up some interest for himself,\u201d said Chamblee, who has been critical of DeChambeau since he left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in 2022. \u201cHe didn\u2019t talk about playing on a team and how much that meant, nope he didn\u2019t do that.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat he did do was talk about his YouTube channel, which you know, if we want to talk about the numbers are generated from that, it\u2019s pretty dubious. I have no doubt that bots are generating a lot of those views. There may be some interest as well, but that\u2019s what he wants to talk about \u2013 not the team, not the Ryder Cup. <\/p>\n

He has so many potential bulletin board mistakes and I think he would be a captain\u2019s nightmare.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

DeChambeau, 32, is making his third Ryder Cup appearance with an overall record of 2-3-1.<\/p>\n
