The developers then secured $96 million in financing for the project this summer, for the tower that had an estimated $100 million cost when it was first announced, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagobusiness.com\/commercial-real-estate\/developers-line-financing-west-loop-apartments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Crain\u2019s<\/a>. That allowed excavation work to get started, after which augur cast piles will be sunk into the earth to support the tower\u2019s weight. It is to include a four-story podium that will have 183 parking spaces and 3,000 square feet of retail space. There is a pending tower crane permit in the Chicago Data Portal as of August 28.
