{"id":256348,"date":"2025-09-26T14:56:22","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T14:56:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/256348\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T14:56:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T14:56:22","slug":"nj-police-warn-retailers-of-fake-movie-money-scam-nbc-new-york","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/256348\/","title":{"rendered":"NJ police warn retailers of fake \u2018movie\u2019 money scam \u2013 NBC New York"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Authorities in a New Jersey community are warning retailers about a scam in which people are circulating fake &#8220;movie&#8221; money that looks just like real money &#8212; with one difference you may not see at a glance. <\/p>\n<p>Gloucester Township police say their detectives are investigating recent cases involving the use of &#8220;Hollywood&#8221; or &#8220;Motion Picture&#8221; money being passed off as legitimate currency. <\/p>\n<p>They say the money being passed is nearly visually identical to real money, including texture and size. But the part that&#8217;s supposed to say &#8220;Federal Reserve&#8221; says &#8220;Motion Picture Use&#8221; and &#8220;The United States of America&#8221; is turned into &#8220;For Motion Picture Use only.&#8221; The back of the bill features a similar deception.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image_b654a7.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image_f7d15c.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>Gloucester police say the fake bill won&#8217;t pass security measures like counterfeit pens, detective lights or watermarks or holograms. The problem, they say, is most cashiers don&#8217;t run random smaller denomination bills through security measures to ensure their legitimacy.
