Still, June&#8217;s surge reflects the exuberance of investors who are relieved that most of the Trump administration&#8217;s most dire tariff threats haven&#8217;t been implemented.<\/p>\n<p>This month, the S&amp;P 500 is up 4.4%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq has jumped nearly 6.1%. The Dow, meanwhile, has added about 3.7% month to date.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. equities are also coming off a fresh high on Friday, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S&amp;P 500<\/a> reaching a new record in more than four months after ending the session about 0.5% higher at 6,173.07 \u2014 overtaking its previous record of 6,147.43. At its low in April, the S&amp;P 500 was down nearly 18% for the year when global trade and tariff tensions rocked the market.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.IXIC\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nasdaq Composite<\/a> hit an all-time high and closed at a record after adding about 0.5% on Friday, while the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0rose nearly 1%.<\/p>\n<p>Investors will be keeping an eye on whether the Senate will be able to pass President Donald Trump&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/28\/trump-spending-bill-senate.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;one, big, beautiful&#8221; bill<\/a> in the coming hours. If passed by the Senate, the package \u2014 which narrowly passed a key procedural vote in the Senate on Saturday night \u2014 faces an uncertain path in the House, where some GOP lawmakers have balked at revisions in the latest version of the bill.<\/p>\n<p>Stocks on Friday had pulled back from their session highs after President Donald Trump posted on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/114756567645919781\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Truth Social<\/a>\u00a0that the U.S. is immediately &#8220;terminating ALL discussions on Trade with Canada&#8221; in response to Ottawa&#8217;s decision to move forward with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/video\/2025\/05\/30\/deepwaters-gene-munster-talks-germany-weighing-a-10-percent-digital-services-tax.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">digital services tax<\/a>\u00a0on American tech firms. But earlier in the day, stocks ran up after Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick\u00a0said late Thursday that a framework\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/27\/china-us-agree-details-of-london-trade-framework-trade-agreement-beijing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">between China and the U.S<\/a>. on trade had been finalized, and that the Trump administration soon expects to reach deals with 10 major trading partners.<\/p>\n<p>Investors remain confident that the strength in price indicates good news for the market moving forward, particularly as opportunities to buy the dip emerge.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The bearish narratives\u2014Middle East conflict, tariffs, soft economic data\u2014keep getting invalidated by the price action,&#8221; said Ken Mahoney, CEO of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__http:\/\/email2.zitopartners.com\/c\/eJwcy7FuxCAMANCvgfFkG4xhYOiS_wDjXiL1kiihldqvr3Tz0xs1QSso3ioKIwTMHPxaBcaQpDSAA9lIhUMxVoMGxDq63yoBMSQSDDFieIDlnBgxtzRKAXAR_rZ5nO2au133Q4-X_6rrnOftwoejxdHyauux2-_zfLOjxV_13Nrj3vbn6iLsXb_37V1nVQo9ZwZJw4Rjacqi2gY2DVE_wc-amEQ6WOxYqGgyECAkhWJduIn_qfQfAAD__xu-RTg__;!!PIZeeW5wscynRQ!rypwKYZPjWbagMwiYfcJOb0u5z3wOaVpivzn1TA0Qu69WzCntGUqsQNe8R5sjknNe-IWt3Q-l94sPrtUJw$\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mahoney Asset Management<\/a>. &#8220;Every chance the market has had to break down has failed.
