\n\tGlen Powell<\/a> is sharing insight into an awkward encounter he recently had with a \u201ccanceled\u201d celebrity and how he related it to his role on Chad Powers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor recalled attending a Hollywood party where he had a run-in with a celebrity, who he was a fan of, but had been recently canceled.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI showed up to the party and there was somebody that had been on the ropes in terms of getting canceled,\u201d Powell said on the Therapuss<\/a> podcast. \u201cIt was one of those Hollywood parties where there\u2019s like cameras and press and all that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPowell noted that \u201cthis person had made some of my favorite movies and I was like, \u2018Oh, this is great,’\u201d adding, \u201cHe came up and he said, \u2018Nice to meet you.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Oh, dude. Such a big fan.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile chatting with the unnamed celebrity, Powell recounted that a photographer had asked to take a photo of them together, but didn\u2019t think that would be a good idea.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis person was recently canceled and it was not good,\u201d he said. \u201cI was a fan of their work but not a fan of their choices. So, I was kind of just being nice. But then, when they wanted to take a picture with you, I realized very quickly\u2014I was like, \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t know if this is a good idea.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPowell continued, \u201cI realized, this guy, his face is toxic. Going out into the world, people are having a visceral reaction to this person in terms of the bad choice they\u2019ve made.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Twisters actor related it to his character on the new Hulu series, where his character returns to play football for another team under an alias after to redeem himself after falling from grace.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cRuss Holliday is just a guy that made a mistake,\u201d Powell said. \u201cHe\u2019s not a bad guy.
