{"id":257135,"date":"2025-09-26T22:17:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T22:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/257135\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T22:17:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T22:17:10","slug":"colleyville-council-approves-annual-gift-card-programs-economic-development-initiatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/257135\/","title":{"rendered":"Colleyville council approves annual gift card programs, economic development initiatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tColleyville residents will see several economic development programs rolled out throughout fiscal year 2025-26, including the city&#8217;s annual gift card programs.<\/p>\n<p>The programs were unanimously approved by Colleyville City Council members at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colleyville.com\/government\/meeting-agendas-packets-and-minutes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sept. 16<\/a> meeting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you need to know<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Several<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colleyville.com\/government\/departments-a-l\/economic-development\/supporting-our-businesses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> programs<\/a> will be rolled out this Christmas, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$35 Colleyville gift cards, which residents can use to shop at participating Colleyville businesses<\/li>\n<li>$50 Colleyville Cares gift cards, which will be given to families in need to shop at Colleyville businesses<\/li>\n<li>Colleyville Gives program, which allows sales tax businesses to receive a $1,000 advertising grant or a $2,000 advertising grant if the business donates $500 to a local nonprofit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional gift cards will be given out in the winter for participating Colleyville restaurants, and then again in the summer for participating businesses, Assistant City Manager Mark Wood said.<\/p>\n<p>The city is also bringing back the Great Receipt Race, which was last implemented in 2020, Wood said. This program partners with the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD parent-teacher associations. The PTAs collect receipts from transactions at Colleyville businesses, and the top three with the most receipts receive a grant from the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past, we\u2019ve done $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 for the top three winners and $500 for any school that participates,\u201d Wood said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By the numbers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since 2018, the city has provided $5.38 million to local businesses through the gift card programs, Wood said.<\/p>\n<p>With the Colleyville Gives program, the city has provided $529,100 in advertising grants to local businesses since 2018, he said.
