The three-Michelin-starred restaurant from the husband-wife duo John Shields and Karen Urie Shields was also crowned The Best Restaurant in the Midwest. Smyth is one of two Chicago restaurants to boast three Michelin stars, along with Grant Achatz\u2019s Alinea.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wbez.org\/food-drink\/2025\/07\/02\/chicago-filipino-restaurants-guide\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kasama<\/a>, Genie Kwon and Timothy Flores\u2019 Filipino eatery, was ranked at No. 31. Since opening in 2020, the Ukrainian Village spot has become the first Filipino restaurant to receive a Michelin star, earned a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wbez.org\/chicago-james-beard-award-winning-restaurants\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">James Beard Award<\/a> and been featured in FX\u2019s \u201c<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wbez.org\/movies-tv\/2024\/06\/27\/the-bear-hulu-season-3-chicago-restaurants-guide-filming-locations\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Bear<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The North America roundup is the latest from the \u201c50 Best\u201d brand, backed by the British media company William Reed. The brand began ranking the 50 best restaurants globally in 2002 and has slowly expanded to additional, region-specific lists. The Korean restaurant from chef Junghyun Park also took home some hardware at June\u2019s <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wbez.org\/food-drink\/2025\/06\/17\/what-do-the-countrys-top-chefs-eat-at-the-industrys-biggest-night-400-pounds-of-meat\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">James Beard Awards<\/a> ceremony in Chicago, where the restaurant won for \u201cOutstanding Hospitality.\u201d Atomix is also ranked No. 12 on the list of <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theworlds50best.com\/list\/1-50\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The World\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants<\/a>.
