{"id":257322,"date":"2025-09-26T23:56:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T23:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/257322\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T23:56:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T23:56:11","slug":"nyc-korean-restaurant-takes-top-prize-in-elite-new-best-north-american-eatery-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/257322\/","title":{"rendered":"NYC Korean restaurant takes top prize in elite new best North American eatery awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Korean restaurant in Manhattan has claimed the ultimate culinary crown.<\/p>\n<p>Atomix, a critically acclaimed fine-dining spot in the NoMad neighborhood offering a $395 12-course tasting menu, was named No. 1 on the inaugural <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theworlds50best.com\/northamerica\/en\/list\/1-50\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">North America\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants list<\/a>, in a splashy Las Vegas ceremony earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve other New York spots also made the list \u2014 including seafood stalwart Le Bernardin, the trendy French Le Veau d\u2019Or and Brooklyn\u2019s The Four Horsemen.<\/p>\n<p>Atomix has been named No. 1 on North America\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants list.  Evan Sung<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply honored to be recognized among so many inspiring restaurants,\u201d chef-owner Junghyun \u2018JP\u2019 Park said afterward in a written statement. \u201cThis motivates us to continue pushing ourselves and to share the depth and creativity within Korean cuisine with the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new awards are an off-shoot of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/19\/lifestyle\/worlds-50-best-restaurants-revealed-heres-where-nyc-landed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the prestigious World\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants list<\/a>, a favorite of globetrotting gourmands.<\/p>\n<p>The accolade reinforces Atomix\u2019s growing global influence. The restaurant currently sits at No. 12 on the franchise\u2019s worldwide list, holds two Michelin stars, and earlier this year picked up a James Beard Award for Outstanding Hospitality.<\/p>\n<p>The Korean fine-dining spot in NoMad topped the inaugural list.  Evan Sung<\/p>\n<p>Park opened Atomix with wife Ellia in 2018, quickly making waves in the Big Apple dining scene for its refined dishes blending Korean tradition and modern artistry, served on custom ceramics.<\/p>\n<p>Popular dishes include tteok-galbi (grilled short rib patty) with chocolate and chopi (Korean pepper), halibut served with sea urchin and rice porridge.<\/p>\n<p>The win comes as the Parks prepare to celebrate a major milestone: the 10-year anniversary of sister restaurant Atoboy, credited with beginning a trend toward contemporary Korean dining in NYC.<\/p>\n<p>The spot was launched in 2018 by husband-and-wife duo Chef Junghyun \u2018JP\u2019 Park and Ellia. <\/p>\n<p>Since then, the couple has expanded their portfolio with NARO and Seoul Salon. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us, hospitality has always been about creating spaces that feel warm, thoughtful, and forward-thinking,\u201d Ellia Park said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we look ahead to the 10-year anniversary of our first restaurant and our own beginnings, we are so proud of our team and grateful for the support of our guests as we explore what the next decade can look like.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant offers a $395, 12-course tasting menu.
