AUBURN \u2014 Simon Walker<\/a>, a freshman guard with Auburn basketball<\/a>, injured his right foot in practice last week and underwent surgery Tuesday, Sept. 22, the program announced Friday, Sept. 26.<\/p>\n

The Huntsville native, whose procedure was done by Dr. Charles Pitts of Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham, is expected to make a full recovery and return this season, according to a release.<\/p>\n

\u201cSimon has been one of our most improved players since he stepped foot on campus this summer, I\u2019m incredibly proud of the strides he\u2019s made,\u201d head coach Steven Pearl<\/a> said in a release. \u201cThis is a minor setback, and I have no doubt that he will attack his rehab just as aggressively as he attacked his development this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first commitment in Auburn<\/a>‘s 2025 signing class, Walker was listed as a four-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals and ranked as the No. 2 player in the state. He chose the Tigers<\/a> over offers from Clemson, Iowa and Virginia Tech, among others.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard received an ASWA All-State honorable mention as a senior at Huntsville High School after earning all-state honors his junior year.<\/p>\n
