Los Angeles firefighters extinguished a \u201crubbish fire\u201d abutting the property of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel <\/a>less than 48 hours after he returned to ABC\u2019s airwaves following a weeklong suspension for comments he made about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to one of Kimmel\u2019s homes on Marmont Avenue in the Hollywood Hills just after 7 a.m. local time on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Around a half-dozen firefighters put out the fire, which was described as abutting the side of Kimmel\u2019s home, an LAFD spokesperson told The Post.<\/p>\n

There were no injuries or damage reported.<\/p>\n

When asked if there was any information as to what caused the fire, the LAFD spokesperson told The Post that there was none.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe incident commander did not request any additional resources,\u201d the LAFD rep told The Post, suggesting that the fire was minor in scope and did not necessitate any further investigation.<\/p>\n

The LAFD spokesperson declined to provide any further information. The Post has sought comment from Kimmel\u2019s representatives.<\/p>\n

Kimmel thrust himself into national headlines 10 days ago<\/a> after he devoted his Sept. 15 monologue on \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d to the Kirk assassination \u2014 suggesting that the Turning Point USA\u2019s alleged shooter was a member of the pro-Trump \u201cMAGA\u201d movement.<\/p>\n

The comments by Kimmel sparked outrage, prompting ABC to indefinitely suspend the late-night star<\/a> after FCC Chair Brendan Carr told a podcaster that his agency may force parent company Disney to take action.<\/p>\n

Carr threatened to suspend ABC\u2019s licenses while affiliate owners Nexstar and Sinclair said they would preempt Kimmel\u2019s show.<\/p>\n

Kimmel\u2019s suspension prompted critics to accuse the Trump administration of suppressing speech \u2014 a charge that the White House denies.<\/p>\n

ABC, under pressure from artists as well as viewers who threatened to boycott the network and parent company Disney, reinstated Kimmel on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

His return show notched high ratings, generating an audience of more than 6 million viewers and more than 20 million on social media.<\/p>\n
