Here are 10 to watch for.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Asado Life, a live-fire culinary restaurant, is opening a new location at the Shipyards project in Jacksonville.<\/li>\n<li>The restaurant will be part of the development near EverBank Stadium and is expected to open in August 2026.<\/li>\n<li>The new 140-seat waterfront restaurant will feature a menu of chef-cut steaks, seafood, and grilled vegetables.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\">\ud83d\udce8\u00a0Sign up for Dining Notes, the free weekly restaurant newsletter from the Times-Union&#8217;s Gary Mills delivered to your email inbox each Wednesday.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/profile.jacksonville.com\/newsletters\/dining-notes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sign up now<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Three years after opening his restaurant at the St. Augustine Shipyard on the San Sebastian River, Nick Carrera is bringing his popular live-fire culinary experience concept <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/story\/lifestyle\/food\/2025\/06\/04\/asado-life-owners-nick-and-christie-carrera-and-paul-thompson-purchase-the-waterfront-property\/84025236007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asado Life<\/a> to another shipyard, this one on the St. Johns River in Jacksonville.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The waterfront restaurant will join the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/story\/news\/local\/2023\/07\/25\/four-seasons-and-jaguars-owner-shad-khan-behind-new-four-seasons\/70461927007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shipyards project<\/a> now under construction across from EverBank Stadium, Jaguars team owner Shad Khan\u2019s Iguana Investments revealed Sept. 25.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am proud to welcome Asado Life, a restaurant centered around celebrating the centuries-old Argentine tradition of open-flame cooking, to the Shipyards Development,\u201d said Iguana Investments\u2019 CEO and Chief Design Officer Shanna Khan, in a release announcing the restaurant. \u201cFire has been rooted in mankind\u2019s origins since the beginning of time, and I am eager for guests to enter this vibrant space designed to spark memorable connections while dining along the St. Johns River.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 140-seat, full-service restaurant with indoor and patio dining will be part of the development\u2019s marina support building located on the Northbank Riverwalk just west of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/picture-gallery\/business\/real-estate\/2021\/06\/03\/first-look-proposed-four-seasons-hotel-shipyards-jacksonville\/7522298002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Jacksonville<\/a> and south of a nearby office building, both taking shape at the site.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"related-link\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">More dining news: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/story\/entertainment\/dining\/2025\/09\/19\/everbank-stadiums-new-food-options-for-jaguars-fans-in-2025\/86223687007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Duuuval Dawgs and Brisket &amp; Grits: What&#8217;s new for Jaguars fans at EverBank Stadium in 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of five public-facing restaurants planned for the Shipyards project, Asado Life is expected to open in August 2026, the release said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Asado, a communal fire-grilling tradition in Argentina and other South American countries, is the centerpiece of the dining concept, which uses ember roasting, smoking and live-fire parilla grilling cooking methods, according\u00a0to the restaurant\u2019s website.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The technique is as much about the social experience of cooking and preparing the food as it is about what ends up on the plate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the menu, look for chef-cut steaks ranging from an 8-ounce Hanger to a 36-ounce Porterhouse; fresh catch seafood; grilled vegetables and more, all prepared on a parilla, a traditional Argentinian barbecue grill, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asadolife.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Augustine restaurant\u2019s website<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Executive Chef Matthew Brown \u2014 who first collaborated with Asado Life owner Carrera and his wife, Christie, in 2017 and serves in the same role at the St. Augustine restaurant \u2014 will lead the restaurant\u2019s culinary team, the release said. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to bring our devotion to creating unique and memorable dining experiences to Jacksonville, where Asado Life will introduce our signature live-fire cuisine to the heart of the city\u2019s sports and entertainment district,\u201d Carrera said in the release. \u201cJust as in St. Augustine, we look forward to welcoming guests around the fire to share the food, the atmosphere, and the sense of community that define who we are.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the Shipyards, the restaurant\u2019s design \u201cwill offer a more modern, metropolitan vibe\u201d to the coastal interior of the St. Augustine restaurant, the release said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Carreras celebrated Thursday\u2019s announcement in a social media post: \u201cFrom the bottom of our hearts, Nick and I could never have dreamed that our first charity Asado for Honoring The Brave back in 2016 would lead to this extraordinary milestone &#8211;
