The bill, which has been referred to committees in both the House and Senate, would require federal agencies to coordinate with the private sector and \u201cmap\u201d the entire supply chain of certain essential medicines and identify vulnerabilities \u2014 in other words, to create a clear picture of the producers, manufacturers and other entities involved in manufacturing the drugs from start to finish.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis information will play a crucial role in efforts to detect and prevent supply chain disruptions, helping to ensure that patients continue to have access to the medications they need,\u201d LeaMond wrote to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aarp.org\/content\/dam\/aarp\/politics\/advocacy\/2025\/09\/support-letter-maps-act-senate-sep-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" data-overlay-msg=\"AARP.Everywhere.LeavingModal.drawOverlay(this,&#039;&#039;,\/content\/dam\/content-fragments\/aarp-org\/en\/article\/advocacy\/2025\/fighting-to-prevent-prescription-drug-shortages.html,&#039;&#039;,&#039;You are now leaving AARP.org and going to a website that is not operated by AARP.
