There was a special half-time show, a mixer for alumni from all classes, a parade, a ribbon cutting for an addition to the school’s campus and a golf tournament.

Student-led tours of the building, which included a museum showcasing memorabilia from all 10 decades, were greatly enjoyed.

These events were planned and executed by faculty, students, administrators and the alumni association. They did an incredible job. Alums were welcomed back to campus with genuine enthusiasm and warmth.

Three cheers to everyone who assisted with the Sunset Centennial weekend. Waxahachie’s band had its eighth grade bands play with them on the field at half-time. They were not able to perform their contest show at half-time so they performed it after the game was over and all of the football was finished.

The Duncanville High School band members stayed in their seats to watch Waxahachie’s band perform its show piece after most everyone from Duncanville had left the stadium.

I think this showed great respect for their marching comrades and proved that the Duncanville band has a lot of class.
