{"id":259665,"date":"2025-09-27T21:17:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-27T21:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/259665\/"},"modified":"2025-09-27T21:17:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-27T21:17:10","slug":"founding-kiss-guitarist-ace-frehley-hospitalized-after-fall-cancels-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/259665\/","title":{"rendered":"Founding Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley hospitalized after fall, cancels show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"T46TXZCTBRBUHK6OLJW3P2XPT4\">Rock legend Ace Frehley is taking a brief pause from touring after a minor studio mishap.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"W7RCKPPMH5ETPLVU3JAJFK7K7E\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1346054066879592&amp;set=a.225797238905286\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1346054066879592&amp;set=a.225797238905286\">According to a post on Frehley\u2019s Facebook page<\/a>, the rock guitar legend had to cancel a show as part of his 10,000 Volts Tour on a doctor\u2019s order after suffering a \u201cminor fall\u201d in his recording studio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QYQOABMKBVCYXJJOW6WBSZH2VQ\">\u201cDear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital,\u201d the post reads. \u201cHe is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YNBUMIQIXZGANEDKJOVFYIH6LU\">Frehley\u2019s performance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, California, was canceled. It was set for Friday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"SU4I6HGKE5BJTN5B66MFCZAYI4\">The post encouraged fans to go to the fair and support his friends in the rock bands Quiet Riot and Vixen. The post also said that Frehley looks forward to continuing his tour and his work on the next album, Origins, Vol. 3. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"HKZVGN2JH5AHBDF6GDHUDA44ZA\">Frehley, 74, a founding member of the rock band Kiss, is set to resume his tour on October 10 in Decatur, Illinois. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YISCKQ3JX5C6HBK2RWP6Q6R2TI\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/entertainment\/music\/ace-frehley-forced-to-cancel-show-after-a-spill-lands-him-in-the-hospital\/ar-AA1Nmn0w?ocid=BingNewsSerp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/entertainment\/music\/ace-frehley-forced-to-cancel-show-after-a-spill-lands-him-in-the-hospital\/ar-AA1Nmn0w?ocid=BingNewsSerp\">According to Guitar Player\u2019s online site<\/a>, Frehley has a history of falling during his tenure with makeup-clad Kiss, sometimes intentionally, and sometimes not. As part of the Kiss show, he would perform in high-heeled boots that would frequently cause him to trip up and take spills onstage. Whenever it happened, his bandmates \u2013 Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley \u2013 would begin playing over him, as if the entire episode was planned, according to the website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"TAEQ24RUZBFTTB3YTY6XO3ACAU\">\u201cI used to fall a lot in those boots,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicradar.com\/artists\/i-should-have-been-dead-that-night-former-kiss-guitarist-ace-frehley-recalls-the-moment-he-almost-died-on-stage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.musicradar.com\/artists\/i-should-have-been-dead-that-night-former-kiss-guitarist-ace-frehley-recalls-the-moment-he-almost-died-on-stage\">F<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicradar.com\/artists\/i-should-have-been-dead-that-night-former-kiss-guitarist-ace-frehley-recalls-the-moment-he-almost-died-on-stage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.musicradar.com\/artists\/i-should-have-been-dead-that-night-former-kiss-guitarist-ace-frehley-recalls-the-moment-he-almost-died-on-stage\">rehley told Music Radar<\/a>. \u201cA lot of times, Paul would cover for me by walking over to me like it was part of the show. He made it look like was choreography or something.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"EB3GOG3LDZBXBAHR74ANNA6L5U\">According to the report, Frehley damaged his knees by falling on them while performing. He rejoined the Kiss in 1996, for its reunion tour and continued with them until 2002.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"SYJU7VVUSNEJ3MXZOWPUC4LU5E\">His persona with KISS was that of the spaced-out \u201cSpaceman.\u201d On stage, he was known for his laid-back demeanor, fiery guitar solos, and signature smoking, light-up guitar effects, which became iconic in KISS\u2019s live shows. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Y5U64YXWRVBP7MJ3QRWOGNRX4M\">His slurred speech and eccentric humor added to his \u201cspace cadet\u201d charm, making him a fan favorite. He also had the most successful and critically acclaimed of the four Kiss solo albums that were released in 1978, thanks in part to the song, \u201cNew York Groove.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KEGE6C77ZNENVIDBSVHBPULNHA\">Kiss was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. The band will be celebrated in December with a lifetime achievement award at the Kennedy Center Honors.
