{"id":259856,"date":"2025-09-27T23:03:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-27T23:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/259856\/"},"modified":"2025-09-27T23:03:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-27T23:03:10","slug":"tropical-depression-9-will-be-200-miles-off-jacksonville-coast-monday-tuesday-action-news-jax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/259856\/","title":{"rendered":"Tropical Depression 9 will be 200 miles off Jacksonville coast Monday\/Tuesday \u2013 Action News Jax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">JACKSONVILLE, Fla.  \u2014 The First Alert Weather Team is tracking two systems in the tropics, one that will remain out to sea and one that will be just off our coast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">Here are the latest updates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Tropical Depression #9<\/b> formed Saturday morning between the Bahamas &amp; Cuba<\/li>\n<li>TD #9 is forecast to become Imelda later Saturday or Sunday.<\/li>\n<li>TD #9 will track north, brushing the east coast of Florida on Monday.<\/li>\n<li>The storm will track east of Jacksonville on Monday\/Tuesday by about 200 miles.<\/li>\n<li>Onshore winds will breeze up at the coast, some 20-30 mph, gusts even higher.<\/li>\n<li>Winds will dramatically fall off the farther inland you live<\/li>\n<li>Rough seas &amp; surf with a high rip current risk at the beach will be our primary local impacts.<\/li>\n<li>Waves will reach as high as 6-8 ft. Monday-Wednesday<\/li>\n<li>The current forecast pulls the storm up to the Carolina coast, then sharply eastward out to sea.<\/li>\n<li>This setup still means flooding rain for the Carolina coast, even though the storm is forecast to turn away from the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, <b>Hurricane Humberto<\/b> is a major hurricane in the Western Atlantic.<\/li>\n<li>Humberto isn\u2019t coming to the U.S. or Florida.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/weather\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\"
