SAN ANTONIO \u2014 As Bexar County approaches election day, the “Pueblo Over Profit Coalition” hosted a community conversation to discuss the proposed Spurs arena and the city’s downtown sports and entertainment district. <\/p>\n

A key message from Saturday’s event was the desire for public funds to be redirected back into the community rather than towards a new arena. An organizer emphasized that the money should be used to invest in the city as a whole. <\/p>\n

The proposed arena is expected to cost $1.3 billion, with the Spurs committing at least $500 million and agreeing to cover all cost overruns.
