{"id":260789,"date":"2025-09-28T08:03:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-28T08:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/260789\/"},"modified":"2025-09-28T08:03:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T08:03:09","slug":"meet-the-putmans-family-says-3-members-killed-in-michigan-car-crash-5-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/260789\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Meet the Putmans&#8217; family says 3 members killed in Michigan car crash, 5 injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three members of the Michigan family featured in TLC\u2019s reality show \u201cMeet the Putmans\u201d were killed in a tragic car accident on Friday night.  <\/p>\n<p>Family patriarch Bill \u201cPapa\u201d Putman, his wife, Barb \u2014 who goes by \u201cNeenee\u201d \u2014 and their daughter-in-law Megan died when a semi-truck ran through a stop sign and collided with their jeep at a rural intersection near Cass City \u2013 located north of Detroit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1CR7jhgUg1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the Tuscola County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI come to you with a heavy heart asking for your prayers,\u201d the family said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=1322499395910476&amp;set=a.232704701556623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a statement<\/a>. \u201cOur family was in a tragic car accident and we lost Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan. They have gone home to be with the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeet the Putmans\u201d aired on TLC in 2017 for one season before the family rebooted the series on YouTube in 2021 as \u201cGrowing Up Putman.\u201d Growing Up Putman \/ YouTube<\/p>\n<p>Megan Putnam\u2019s husband Blake, and their three children, Lulu, Alena, and Noah and niece Gia remain hospitalized after the crash.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease keep Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia in your prayers as they remain in the hospital, we are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them,\u201d the statement wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Bill, Barb and Megan were pronounced dead on the scene, while the five other family members \u201cwere transported to respective hospitals by helicopter and MMR, some in critical condition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The semi-truck driver and his female passenger were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The family reiterated that \u201call proclaim that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He is our hope, our peace, and our salvation. Even in this time of heartbreak, we rest in knowing that God is in control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Family patriarch Bill Putman and his wife, Barb, were killed in Friday\u2019s crash. Please continue to lift us up, that our hearts remain fixed on the truth that Jesus conquered death so we could have eternal life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barb Putman praised her \u201cincredible husband\u201d in an emotional post celebrating his birthday three days before the crash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou, Bill, are my best friend and I am so grateful for you. You bring joy and laughter into my life. I am who I am because of you,\u201d Barb said on Instagram. \u201cYou are an amazing husband, an awesome dad, an inspirational papa and a faithful friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Michigan-based family starred in \u201cMeet the Putnam\u2019s\u201d, which ran on TLC for one season in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Ten adults and 20 kids lived together in the Putman household as of 2025, according to the family\u2019s Instagram bio.
