\n\tAlthough Dick Van Dyke<\/a> had to miss the third iteration of his Vandy Camp fan gathering this weekend, he was there in spirit.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 6x Emmy winner\u2019s wife Arlene Silver announced that he was \u201cnot up to\u201d attending Saturday\u2019s event in Malibu as planned, but he was tuning into the livestream as fans shared well wishes in his absence.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m sorry. When you\u2019re 99-and-a-half years old, you have good days and bad days, and when you\u2019re 40 years old, you have good days and bad days,\u201d said Silver on stage, according to USA Today<\/a>. \u201cUnfortunately, today is not a good day for him, and he\u2019s sick that he can\u2019t be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter asking fans to share \u201cwhat he means to you\u201d for her husband watching at home, Silver noted she\u2019s \u201cpretty confident\u201d he\u2019ll be able to return for the next event.<\/p>\n

\n\tHosted by the couple and their musical group The Vantastix, Vandy Camp is described as a \u201cwhimsical, vintage circus\u201d honoring their \u201cpassion for comedy, vaudeville and the circus.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVan Dyke celebrated his 99th birthday on Dec. 13, shortly after appearing in Coldplay<\/a>\u2018s \u2018All My Love<\/a>\u2018 music video, which he and Arlene produced.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m acutely aware that I, you know, could go any day now, but I don\u2019t know why it doesn\u2019t concern me,\u201d said Van Dyke in the video, which was directed by Spike Jonze and Mary Wigmore. \u201cI\u2019m not afraid of it.
