The piece culminates in Song of the Stars, which honors the presence of the stars as all-knowing, eternal elements.

Exploring Mexico’s most celebrated ghost stories, Three Mexican Folk Songs, by David Conte, highlight haunting archetypes such as La Bruja and La Llorona. The concert also includes The Ballad of the Witches’ Road, by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, associated with the Marvel Studios Disney+ television miniseries Agatha All Along.

North Coast Singers’ Capella high school ensemble will join Sorelle for part of She Sang the Stars as well as perform their own programming based on European folk and mythological traditions.

“Song selections uncover feminine archetypes in folklore. These include The Maiden, representative of youthful joy; The Witch, a powerful, feared and magical figure; and The Crone, often a source of knowledge and spiritual understanding,” described Michelle Risling, conductor, in the news release. “Our repertoire explores cultural identities through generations, providing insights into the phases of women’s lives and societal beliefs across cultures.”

Tickets: Suggested donation $20/$10 student.

Visit www.SorelleSanDiego.com for more information.

Women’s chamber chorus Sorelle San Diego will present Folk Tales, a fall concert on Saturday, Oct. 11 at…

[5134
5229,1582,276,7352,7353,3549,7264,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-260956","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-san-diego","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-ca","10":"tag-california","11":"tag-encinitas-advocate","12":"tag-encinitas-advocate-things-to-do","13":"tag-san-diego","14":"tag-sandiego","15":"tag-united-states","16":"tag-united-states-of-america","17":"tag-unitedstates","18":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","19":"tag-us","20":"tag-usa
["GET
