From what Alexa shared, things had been troubling for a while. She says signs were pointing to something serious, but the pediatrician\u2019s office kept brushing them off. She writes, \u201cAfter a run around for months with the pediatrician\u2019s office, I knew what was going on was something bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n
Eventually, it emerged that Rookie was showing signs of heart failure, symptoms she believes were missed earlier. \u201cOur sweet Rookie was showing signs of heart failure that were being missed,\u201d she said. That discovery led to their current stay in the cardiovascular ICU.<\/p>\n
