Federico Chiesa<\/a> emerged as one of the few positives to come from the defeat at Crystal Palace<\/a>, with the Italian continuing to earn calls from supporters for a more involved role.<\/b><\/p>\n

It took Liverpool\u2019s No. 14 until January 18 to make six appearances last season, and he has done it this time around before the end of September, while scoring twice and setting up another two goals.<\/p>\n

It has been no secret that Slot has favoured his other attacking options in the past, but Chiesa has quickly emerged as a player who can turn the game in Liverpool\u2019s favour.<\/p>\n

That was the case again at Selhurst Park until poor defending from a long throw-in, again, saw Slot\u2019s side come unstuck to deny Chiesa a hand in yet another result.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old injects infectious energy, and not for the first time this season, he\u2019s had supporters calling on Slot to utilise him accordingly: <\/p>\n

Don’t think any of the new players have settled particularly well apart from Ekitike. Chiesa needs to be getting more than 15 minutes here and there as well because it’s an insult to him. Looked more dangerous in 15 minutes than any of them on that pitch today.<\/p>\n

What was poor result and performance today, the one shining light (in recent weeks) is the emergence of Chiesa as a genuine option to help change the game, maybe even a start in a PL is due soon. <\/p>\n

Chiesa has more than put forth a case for more game time, and his inclusion in the Champions League<\/a> squad at the expense of Giovanni Leoni<\/a> ought to put him in contention on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Italian spoke after the win over Southampton<\/a> in midweek that he \u201cwants the competition\u201d for places and is feeling \u201cbetter physically and mentally<\/a>\u201d compared to last season.<\/p>\n

Slot has shown a willingness to chop and change his side this season, so why not give Chiesa more than a sub role in the Premier League<\/a> and Champions League<\/a>?<\/p>\n
