{"id":261927,"date":"2025-09-28T18:48:17","date_gmt":"2025-09-28T18:48:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/261927\/"},"modified":"2025-09-28T18:48:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T18:48:17","slug":"cpd-marine-unit-rescues-dog-stranded-in-drainpipe-along-chicago-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/261927\/","title":{"rendered":"CPD Marine Unit rescues dog stranded in drainpipe along Chicago River"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                   CBS News Live <\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/keyart-chicago-1920x1080.jpg\"   class=\"temp__img\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                              <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/chicago\/live\/\" class=\"embed__headline-link\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>          CBS News Chicago<\/p>\n<p>          Live<\/p>\n<p>                      <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Chicago police safely reunited a dog with her owner this weekend after finding herself stranded in a drainpipe in the South Branch of the Chicago River.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday afternoon, someone on a boat noticed the pit bull terrier, named Farrow, standing in a drainpipe near the Harrison Street Bridge, just south of the mouth of the Eisenhower Expressway.<\/p>\n<p>The person on the boat called police, and the Chicago police Marine Unit responded.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Faroe&#8217;s owner, Brandon Hilliard, was searching for her \u2014 only to find out through a community public safety app that the Marine Unit was answering a call of a stranded dog fitting her description, police said.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cpd-dog-rescue-1.jpg#.jpeg\" alt=\"cpd-dog-rescue-1.jpg \" height=\"827\" width=\"620\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  Faroe stranded inside a drainpipe on the Chicago River<\/p>\n<p>                Chicago Police<\/p>\n<p>Faroe had run off while outside Saturday morning and had gone missing, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Hilliard&#8217;s sister was able to contact the police Marine Unit and tell them the dog belonged to her brother, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The Marine Unit contacted Hilliard, who got on the police boat that was on its way to rescue Faroe, police said. A Marine Unit diver got into the water to retrieve Faroe, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Faroe looked nervous.
