She hasn\u2019t made any friends at school until new student Bronte arrives. But when her grandfather goes missing, Starling sets out on a journey to find her mum.<\/p>\n<p>Based in central Victoria, Drum \u2018writes short stories and poetry and has had work included in anthologies\u2019, said the publisher. \u2018Her many years working as a social worker with young people informs her writing.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Publisher Ginny Grant said, \u2018Quiet,\u00a0compelling and full of heart [\u2026] It\u2019s a story of first love, identity and the value of true friendship.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Of the acquisition, Drum said, \u2018All those hours in my writing den moving words around and at last, Ginny Grant comes along and is prepared to take a chance on my story.
