We\u2019ll see where it\u2019s at. Bill Kostroun\/New York Post<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAw s\u2013t,\u201d Brian Burns said. \u201cI didn\u2019t think it was going to be that serious, personally. My heart goes out to that kid. I\u2019ve seen the work he puts in. I know what he was banking on. I know his goals for this season. But Leek will be back, and he will be better than ever. I believe in him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nabers, who was not spotted after the game, is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the initial diagnosis and determine whether any other ligaments or the meniscus are damaged \u2014 either of which would complicate his recovery.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cF\u2013k,\u201d Kayvon Thibodeaux said upon hearing the worst-case fears. \u201cThat hurts. But I hate to say it: We didn\u2019t blink an eye. He\u2019s a guy we need out there as part of our team, but it\u2019s next man up. That\u2019s the name of the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nabers is the unquestionably the best Giants offensive playmaker and the rest of this season was supposed to be about building a connection of the future with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.<\/p>\n<p>Making his first career start, Dart found Nabers twice for 20 yards (and a third time for a 14-yard defensive penalty) on the opening touchdown drive before Nabers\u2019 knee buckled while going for a jump ball on the sideline during a free play.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37239495\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/1-leaves-game-cart-injured-112377538.jpg\" alt=\"Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (1) is injured during a game.\" class=\"wp-image-37239495\"  \/> Bill Kostroun\/New York Post<\/p>\n<p>The home crowd \u2014 reportedly saved by the windy weather from the sight of planes carrying angry messages paid for by fans trying to get messages to owner John Mara \u2014 gasped at the sight of the cart entering the field as Nabers clutched his knee in extreme pain. As he rode away, Nabers waved to the crowd that cheered him on before burying his face in a towel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMalik is one of one,\u201d Dart said. \u201cWhen you have a guy like that on the field, you have all the confidence in the world that he can be a dominant game-changer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Darius Slayton spoke briefly with Nabers at halftime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just told him we are praying for him and we\u2019ve got his back and we\u2019re going to finish this game for him,\u201d Slayton said. \u201cHe didn\u2019t say too much.
