{"id":262906,"date":"2025-09-29T04:16:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-29T04:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/262906\/"},"modified":"2025-09-29T04:16:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-29T04:16:09","slug":"former-no-1-muguruza-announces-pregnancy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/262906\/","title":{"rendered":"Former No. 1 Muguruza announces pregnancy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a1Felicidades, Garbi\u00f1e!<\/p>\n<p>Former top-ranked player Garbi\u00f1e Muguruza announced on social media Sunday that she and husband Arthur Borges are expecting their first child.<\/p>\n<p>Muguruza, who married Borges last October, seemed to suggest they&#8217;ll soon be a family of three when she posted three poolside Polaroid photos to her Instagram account with the caption &#8220;Familia&#8221; &#8212; Spanish for family.<\/p>\n<p>Wearing a green swimsuit and sunglasses, and posing under palm trees, Muguruza can be seen sporting a fairly obvious baby bump.<\/p>\n<p>World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, former World No. 4 Caroline Garcia, Muguruza&#8217;s former coach and International Tennis Hall of Famer Conchita Martinez, and former Top 10 player Dominika Cibulkova &#8212; a rival and friend of Muguruza&#8217;s when they were competing together on the Hologic WTA Tour &#8212; seemed to get the message.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Congratulations,&#8221; Sabalenka wrote, &#8220;so happy for you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cibulkova, a mother of two herself, added: &#8220;Here it comes!!!! Can&#8217;t wait [for you] to experience those sleepless nights my love!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After officially retiring from tennis last April, Muguruza assumed the post of tournament director of the WTA Finals Riyadh presented by PIF &#8212; the first former player to assume the role at the year-end event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u00a1Felicidades, Garbi\u00f1e!
