PHOENIX \u2014 A fire near 35th Avenue and McDowell Road in west Phoenix has caused road closures in the area.<\/p>\n
>> Download the\u00a012News app<\/a> for the latest local breaking news straight to your phone.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The Phoenix Fire Department said crews were dispatched to the area for reports of a strip mall fire on Sunday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n Crews were met with heavy smoke and fire coming from the strip mall.\u00a0<\/p>\n No injuries were reported, but the roadway will be closed while firefighting continues.<\/p>\n McDowell Road will be closed from 35th Avenue to 31st Avenue, the fire department said.<\/p>\n There is no estimated time of reopening.<\/p>\n Fire officials will investigate a cause after putting out the flames and any leftover hot spots.<\/p>\n >> This story will be updated as additional information becomes available.
