The Philadelphia Eagles are 4-0 and all is well in the world.<\/p>\n
A.J. Brown, who declined to speak to reporters after the Birds\u2019 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, instead took to Twitter to post some cryptic tweets.<\/p>\n
Then he shared Mark 6:11 from the Bible:<\/p>\n
Maybe it\u2019s nothing. But it doesn\u2019t feel like nothing when Brown\u2019s lack of involvement has surprisingly been a major issue for the Eagles\u2019 offense this season.<\/p>\n
Brown did not lack targets in the Eagles\u2019 Week 4 win; he had nine passes come his way. Those accounted for 37.5% of Jalen Hurts\u2019 24 passing attempts. But they resulted in just two catches for seven yards. And it\u2019s not like Brown stunk as much as the offensive design wasn\u2019t really putting him in positions to succeed. Case in point, there was a second half series where he was targeted three straight times on short routes where the Bucs\u2019 defense easily locked in on breaking those up to force a three-and-out.<\/p>\n
Brown\u2019s numbers from each game this season:<\/p>\n
Week 1 \u2014 1 target, 1 reception, 6 yards, 0 TD
Week 2 \u2014 8 targets, 5 receptions, 27 yards, 0 TD
Week 3 \u2014 10 targets, 6 receptions, 109 yards, 1 TD
Week 4 \u2014 9 targets, 2 receptions, 7 yards, 0 TD<\/p>\n
Brown is averaging just 37.3 yards per game. That\u2019s well under his 78.1 yards per game career average entering 2025. And his 85.8 average with the Eagles prior to this season.<\/p>\n
It felt like the Eagles had turned a corner and figured out how to properly get Brown involved after the Eagles\u2019 Week 3 comeback win over the Rams. But apparently not.<\/p>\n
Brown has every reason to be frustrated and\/or confused. Yeah, the Eagles are winning. But they\u2019re unnecessarily making it harder on themselves than it has to be.
