\n\tThe video game giant Electronic Arts<\/a> has inked a major $55 billion deal to be taken private, backed by Saudi Arabia\u2019s Public Investment Fund, the Egon Durban-led private equity giant Silver Lake, and Jared Kushner\u2019s Affinity Partners.<\/p>\n

\n\tEA shareholders will receive $210 per share in cash, with the PIF also rolling over its nearly 10 percent stake. The deal is expected to close in the company\u2019s fiscal first quarter of 2027.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe studio, which is behind titles like the Battlefield and Madden NFL franchises, is one of the biggest players in gaming, with CEO Andrew Wilson spending the last decade-plus transforming its business model to focus more on recurring revenue like subscriptions.<\/p>\n

\n\tWilson will remain CEO of the company when the take-private is complete, and will be a major shareholder himself.<\/p>\n
