Fox & Friends condemned the unruly behavior<\/a> on display by American golf fans during this weekend\u2019s Ryder Cup, calling it \u201cbeyond embarrassing.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the uninitiated, the scenes at Bethpage Black, the Long Island golf course that hosted the event, turned remarkably ugly on Saturday after what seemed<\/a> to be some very MAGA fans in attendance crossed a clear line of acceptable behavior.<\/p>\n

Drinks were thrown at golfers (and their wives), chants of \u201cF*ck You Rory!\u201d rang out throughout the day targeting Rory McIlroy<\/strong>, and an opening emcee who led practice rounds of that chant before the golf started was fired. It got so bad that New York State Troopers were brought in to protect<\/a> McIlroy, who led the European team to victory on visiting turf.<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump<\/strong> tied himself to the Ryder Cup early, visiting the golf course Friday morning and receiving a chorus of supporting cheers from a Long Island-based, golf-friendly, and largely white, male, and wealthy demographic from which he draws much support. So Fox & Friends blasting fan behavior as \u201cbeyond embarrassing!\u201d is a brave and notable thing,<\/p>\n

The segment opened with Carly Shimkus<\/strong> reporting on a viral video of the European team chanting, \u201cAre you watching, Donald Trump?!\u201d to which Trump graciously replied<\/a>, \u201cYes, I am!\u201d and offered congratulations.<\/p>\n

Brian Kilmeade<\/strong>, who lives half a dozen miles from Bethpage, knows that community as well as anyone and is close to Trump, fairly called balls and strikes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe setting was beautiful, the course was great,\u201d Kilmeade added. \u201cThe behavior of the fans was embarrassing. I just\u2026 flat out embarrassing. I\u2019m not saying you have to act like it\u2019s every golf tournament. We\u2019ve got to be quiet. I know you got to get into the team aspect, but you don\u2019t have to be obscene.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ainsley Earhardt<\/strong> and Lawrence Jones<\/strong> quickly chimed in to agree, saying you \u201cdon\u2019t throw a beer can at a player\u2019s wife, period,\u201d and these sorts of fans should be \u201cbanned, period.\u201d<\/p>\n
