Ravens defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike won’t be returning this season, Head Coach John Harbaugh announced Monday.<\/p>\n
Madubuike went on injured reserve Saturday before the Ravens’ 37-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now there are questions about when, or if, he will come back to play.<\/p>\n
When asked if Madubuike’s neck injury could be career-threatening, Harbaugh indicated that he’s not allowed to share much.<\/p>\n
“A lot of that is things he needs to address with you guys in his time,” Harbaugh said. “I really can’t speak for him, wouldn’t want to. Those are questions that would be best answered by him going forward.”<\/p>\n
Harbaugh said Madubuike may still be getting more information on the injury as well.<\/p>\n
Harbaugh previously said Madubuike started suffering symptoms following Baltimore’s Week 2 win against the Cleveland Browns.<\/p>\n
It’s a tough blow for Baltimore’s already injury-hampered defense. Madubuike led the Ravens and all NFL defensive tackles with 13 sacks in 2023 and was off to a strong start with two sacks in the Ravens’ first two games.<\/p>\n
The Ravens signed Madubuike, 27, to a four-year, reported $98 million contract extension before the 2024 season.<\/p>\n
Harbaugh said fellow defensive lineman Broderick Washington Jr. (ankle) will return from injured reserve around the minimum four-week requirement.
