The Friars also won <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandiegouniontribune.com\/2025\/09\/28\/padres-notes-assessing-the-catching-a-strong-finish-in-win-over-d-backs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">90 games<\/a> in back-to-back years during the regular season for the first time in franchise history.<\/p>\n<p>The Padres will face the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday in Game 1 of a best-of-three National League Wild-Card Series at Wrigley Field.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here is a quick rundown on how to watch and listen to Game 1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Game time:<\/strong> First pitch is set for 12:08 p.m. PDT. The Cubs are going with Matthew Boyd.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On TV:<\/strong>\u00a0The Padres and Cubs\u2019 Wild-Card Series will be <a href=\"https:\/\/espnpressroom.com\/us\/press-releases\/2025\/09\/2025-mlb-wild-card-series-exclusively-on-espn-networks-starts-september-30\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">broadcast<\/a> on ABC. Calling the Padres and Cubs series are Kevin Brown, Jessica Mendoza and Ben McDonald, with Jesse Rogers reporting from the field. ESPN Deportes will broadcast the games in Spanish. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Radio:<\/strong> The Friar Faithful can listen to all Padres playoff games on the radio via 97.3 The Fan with Jesse Agler and Tony Gwynn Jr. ESPN Radio will also carry the game with Mike Couzens and Chris Burke. The food and drink lineup includes 16-ounce draft beers in aluminum baseball cups for $5, ice cream sundaes in a baseball helmet for $5, nachos for $8 and three types of specialty hot dogs for $9 each.
