Batavia police were investigating a suspicious incident during which two people in an SUV offered children candy and then drove away.<\/p>\n
The incident happened at approximately 5:49 p.m. on Thursday in a parking lot along Wilson Street near Kirk Road. Police said a witness reported a man and woman in a vehicle drove up to a group of children and repeatedly asked if they wanted candy. <\/p>\n
A parent then yelled at them to get away from the kids, at which point the driver sped off, authorities said. The vehicle was described as a white Jeep SUV, and the steering wheel had a Hello Kitty cover, according to police.<\/p>\n
A Hello Kitty sticker was also visible on the SUV’s gas tank cover.
