DNR investigating &#8216;credible&#8217; alligator sighting on Belle Isle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/EA328F4544B96235F43FB8B39EB3E830.jpg\" alt=\"Alligator spotted on Belle Isle\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-7a5d4fdb=\"\"\/>  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox2detroit.com\/video\/1716155\" data-v-7a5d4fdb=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alligator spotted on Belle Isle<\/a> <\/p>\n<p data-v-7a5d4fdb=\"\">The DNR said a report of an alligator on Belle Isle is credible after photos and videos taken showing the animal were posted to social media.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\"><strong>DETROIT (FOX 2)<\/strong> &#8211; The Michigan Department of Resources said it is investigating reports of an alligator on Belle Isle in Detroit.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">According to the DNR, the gator hasn&#8217;t been spotted by staff, but a photo of an alligator posted to social media included geo-location data from Belle Isle. They were alerted about the gator last Friday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;The report is considered credible and consistent,&#8221; the DNR said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Lynn Blasey, a Hamtramck resident who regularly visits Belle Isle, shared photos of the alligator after seeing it perched on a rock Sunday. She is not the first person to report the gator, but said she did alert the DNR about her sighting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/belle-isle-gator-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-0dea8073=\"\">(Photo courtesy of Lynn Blasey) <\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">The DNR issued a warning that releasing wildlife into state parks is prohibited.
