{"id":267058,"date":"2025-09-30T17:33:13","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T17:33:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/267058\/"},"modified":"2025-09-30T17:33:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T17:33:13","slug":"trump-suggests-using-cities-for-military-training-including-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/267058\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump suggests using cities for military training, including Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Donald Trump told top military brass on Tuesday that American cities run by Democrats should serve as \u201ctraining grounds\u201d for troops as the president and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/2025\/09\/30\/trump-hegseth-us-military\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">held a highly anticipated meeting<\/a> with more than 800 leaders in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told Pete,\u201d referring to Hegseth, \u201cwe should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military,\u201d Trump said. \u201cThe ones that are run by radical left Democrats \u2014 what they\u2019ve done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. They\u2019re very unsafe places and we\u2019re gonna straighten them out one by one. This is gonna be a major part for some people in this room. That\u2019s a war too. It\u2019s war from within.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"TLpq8BB7qb\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/2025\/09\/29\/pritzker-feds-seek-deploy-military-protect-ice-agents\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pritzker: Feds seeking to deploy military to Illinois to protect ICE agents<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The president has already demonstrated an eagerness to deploy troops against U.S. citizens, including deployments of the National Guard and active-duty Marines to Los Angeles earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>During his speech, Trump said, \u201cwe\u2019re going into Chicago very soon,\u201d something he\u2019s threatened before without acting on.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s comments came after\u00a0Hegseth\u00a0summoned the top U.S. military officials to an in-person meeting to announce directives for troops that include \u201cgender-neutral\u201d or \u201cmale-level\u201d standards for physical fitness as well as an end to \u201cwoke\u201d culture in the military.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe era of politically correct, overly sensitive don\u2019t-hurt-anyone\u2019s-feelings leadership ends right now at every level,\u201d Hegseth said.<\/p>\n<p>He said he\u2019s loosening disciplinary rules and weakening hazing protections.<\/p>\n<p>Hegseth and Trump abruptly called military leaders from around the world to convene at a base in Virginia without publicly revealing the reason until Tuesday morning. While meetings between top military brass and civilian leaders are nothing new, experts say the scale of the gathering, the haste with which it was called and the mystery surrounding it are particularly unusual.<\/p>\n<p>Although the military is designed to handle foreign threats, the president emphasized his vision of using it for domestic purposes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the enemy from within and we have to handle it before it gets out of control,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s remarks referred to criminals and immigrants who are in the country illegally.
