href="https://www.thetennisgazette.com/tag/chris-eubanks/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chris Eubanks reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2023 and has a career-high ranking of world number 29, but things have not been so smooth sailing for him recently.

The 29-year-old has only won two Grand Slam main draw matches since then, with his last coming at the Australian Open in 2024.

It has also been a long time since Eubanks has won a main draw match on the ATP Tour, which came when Kei Nishikori retired against him at the clay court tournament in Houston back in April.

Eubanks has mainly been competing on the ATP Challenger Tour since then, but he does also occasionally play in qualifying for higher-level tournaments.

This includes the Shanghai Masters, where Eubanks won his first qualifying match, before losing to world number 149 Ugo Blanchet in straight sets.

As a result, Eubanks’ poor season continues and he does not appear to be climbing to his previous heights any time soon.

What has happened to Chris Eubanks’ ranking in 2025?

Eubanks suffered a dramatic drop down the ATP rankings last year after he was unable to defend any of his Wimbledon quarterfinal points.

Despite falling outside the top 100, Eubanks admitted that he felt that he had ‘lifted a weight’ off his shoulders.

However, this has not translated into his results, with Eubanks only winning seven of his last 23 matches of any sort.

This has subsequently caused Eubanks to fall even further down the rankings to world number 182, which is his lowest ranking since 2021.

Eubanks, who also now sometimes has media opportunities, is now scheduled to head back to the ATP Challenger Tour after his Shanghai Masters exit.

The American will now head to Europe for Challenger tournaments in Roanne and Olbia.

One former top 30 player is already out of the Shanghai Masters before the main draw
