Following Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier’s viral exit interview statement on Tuesday afternoon, Indiana Fever star guard Sophie Cunningham added to the outrage against WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, particularly regarding the alleged comments<\/a> made about teammate Caitlin Clark.<\/p>\n

“This past February, I sat across from (Engelbert) and asked how she planned to address the officiating issues in our league,” Collier said. “Her response was, ‘Well, only the losers complain about the refs.’ I also asked how she planned to fix the fact that players like (Clark,\u00a0Angel Reese\u00a0and Paige Bueckers), who are clearly driving massive revenue for the league and are making so little for their first four years.<\/p>\n

“Her response was, ‘(Clark) should be grateful. She makes $16 million off the court because without the platform that the WNBA gives her, she wouldn’t make anything.’ And in that same conversation, she told me, ‘Players should be on their knees, thanking their lucky stars for the media rights deal that I got them.'”<\/p>\n

As a result of such an incredibly arrogant and unfathomably idiotic statement from the league’s commissioner, Cunningham took to Instagram to voice her displeasure through comments on a new outlet’s post on the matter, where she torched Engelbert.<\/p>\n

After fans throughout social media quickly reacted to the seventh-year guard’s comments, some even suggested starting a GoFundMe page to support the inevitable fine she’ll receive from the league office for voicing her displeasure, which is a joke Cunningham used when Clark was fined $200 for her own comments earlier in the playoffs.<\/p>\n

In a humorous twist, Cunningham likened the idea to the fact that she undoubtedly could raise the funds within an hour, if actually acted upon.<\/p>\n
