Blige and Alicia Keys, John Legend released his debut studio album, Get Lifted, in 2004. That album spawned his first hit, <a href=\"https:\/\/americansongwriter.com\/3-songs-for-people-who-say-they-dont-like-john-legend-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cOrdinary People,\u201d<\/a> which was responsible for one of Legend\u2019s three Grammy trophies that year. Branching out from music, the EGOT winner joined the cast of The Voice as a coach in 2019. Spending 10 seasons in the big red chair, Legend, 46, will sit out season 28 in favor of live performing. Unfortunately, he recently delivered some disappointing news to his fans in Italy.<\/p>\n<p>            John Legend Clears Up a Misunderstanding<\/p>\n<p>Over Independence Day weekend, R&amp;B legend Mary J. Blige will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vivaticket.com\/it\/ticket\/napoli-4-ever\/270555?culture=en-gb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hit the stage<\/a> at the Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, Italy, for the Napoli 4 Ever show. Recently, the \u201cNo More Drama\u201d singer shared a post to social media advertising herself and John Legend as performers.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for diehard Legend fans, this is not the case.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to his Instagram Stories Sunday (June 29), the \u201cAll of Me\u201d crooner wrote that he neither knew about nor approved these advertisements.<\/p>\n<p>Next, he explained that the show\u2019s promoters approached his team about performing at the July 6 event. However , they could not reach \u201can acceptable agreement.\u201d Yet, the show continued to promote Legend\u2019s performance, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, I will not be performing there,\u201d Legend wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Summarily, The Voice star wrote, \u201cI would never want my fans to be misled expecting to see me at an event where I will not be. With the season 28 lineup recently announced, only one is returning to their big red chair. Two-time champ Bubl\u00e9 will join fellow veterans Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire.<\/p>\n<p>Likely, Legend exited The Voice because of his Get Lifted 20th Anniversary Tour. Kicking off in May, the \u201cGreen Light\u201d singer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DHV-dq0vfHj\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=f531b9cc-41f1-40e2-aa53-e069f6c50600&amp;img_index=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrapped up<\/a> the European leg of his latest tour on June 14.
