MANHATTAN, New York (WABC) — The remaining three candidates in the race for New York City mayor went airborne on Wednesday, with new TV ads promoting their campaigns.<\/p>\n
It was Zohran Mamdani’s latest turn on national television. Using a guest appearance on “The View” to push back on President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
“He wants to do a whole lot of things with the city, and we’re going to fight him every step of the way, as long as it is something that comes at the expense of the city,” Mamdani said.<\/p>\n
After weeks spent hitting the streets, the three candidates are taking the campaign to millions of people on television.<\/p>\n
Mandani’s ad is upbeat, stressing his campaign theme of affordability.<\/p>\n
In Andrew Cuomo’s ad, the former governor uses AI to poke fun at himself, while emphasizing his experience in government.<\/p>\n
Curtis Sliwa’s ad takes aim at both men.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday afternoon, he blasted the MTA over the recent fare hike.<\/p>\n
“I talk to the commuters, I ride the express buses, I ride the normal buses. And none-none of the passengers are at all happy,” Sliwa said.<\/p>\n
In Queens, Cuomo was endorsed by unionized electrical workers and several religious leaders.<\/p>\n
Mayor Eric Adams appeared in public for the first time since dropping out the race, to announce historically-low crime statistics. Asked if he was confident the next mayor would build on his success, Adams said, “I’m not, I’m not.”<\/p>\n
Then, after taking a veiled swipe at Mamdani, Adams said, “You know what? You’re going to miss me.”<\/p>\n
The mayor is so opposed to Mamdani that, sources say, he may actually endorse Cuomo. Given the bad blood between the mayor and the former governor, that’s saying something.<\/p>\n
