Jannik Sinner was not feeling perfect at the China Open, despite winning the title.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sinner beat Learner Tien in the China Open final<\/a>, enabling him to win his second title in Beijing and third of the year.<\/p>\n

Despite it being a fairly routine straight sets victory, Sinner admitted there was something unusual about his victory in Beijing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sinner suffered a leg issue ahead of the final<\/a>, but that was not the only thing that was bothering him in Beijing.<\/p>\n

Sinner<\/a> was also impacted by stomach issues at the China Open<\/a>, which he admitted after his semifinal win over Alex de Minaur<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With such a short turnaround after winning the China Open, just one day later Sinner was speaking in his pre-tournament press conference<\/a> ahead of the Shanghai Masters<\/a>, where he was asked about how his stomach was now feeling.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I feel good,\u201d responded Sinner. \u201cI said it before the final that I\u2019m ready for the final, and so it was. Here, it\u2019s different. It\u2019s more humid, it\u2019s hotter. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how it\u2019s going to feel on court, but, you know, today I have one day where I can rest, and tomorrow I am going to have more feedback for my body and mind, and trying to prepare the first round match, then we\u2019ll see how it goes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to it. It\u2019s a great challenge. You know, playing first round matches are never easy, so let\u2019s see what\u2019s coming, and hopefully I can show some good tennis here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jannik Sinner\u2019s potential run to the title at the Shanghai Masters<\/p>\n

Sinner is the second seed at the Shanghai Masters this year, but he is actually the highest ranked player following Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s<\/a> withdrawal.<\/p>\n

This means that there is a potential opportunity for Sinner to return to world number one<\/a> this year, but first he has 1000 ranking points to defend as last year\u2019s winner of the Shanghai Masters.<\/p>\n
