{"id":27214,"date":"2025-06-30T13:30:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T13:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/27214\/"},"modified":"2025-06-30T13:30:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T13:30:10","slug":"bob-vylan-dropped-by-agent-uta-after-glastonbury-scandal-exclusive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/27214\/","title":{"rendered":"Bob Vylan Dropped By Agent UTA After Glastonbury Scandal (Exclusive)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>EXCLUSIVE<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/uta\/\" id=\"auto-tag_uta\" data-tag=\"uta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UTA<\/a> has moved swiftly to drop <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/bob-vylan\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bob-vylan\" data-tag=\"bob-vylan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bob Vylan<\/a>, the punk duo at the heart of a scandal in the UK over their performance at <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/glastonbury\/\" id=\"auto-tag_glastonbury\" data-tag=\"glastonbury\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glastonbury<\/a> Festival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDeadline understands that UTA executives made the call over the weekend to part ways with Bobby Vylan and Bobbie Vylan after assessing what was said on stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tVylan\u2019s set on Saturday has made front-page newspaper news in the UK after Bobby Vylan chanted \u201cdeath to the IDF\u201d and complained about working for a \u201cf***ing Zionist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tVylan also platformed the controversial slogan, \u201cfrom the river to the sea, Palestine must be, will be, free,\u201d during the West Holts stage set, streamed live on the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/bbc\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bbc\" data-tag=\"bbc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tUTA insiders are thought to have shared the sentiments of Glastonbury organizers, who said that Vylan overstepped the mark with his comments on stage. UTA declined to comment, but the band\u2019s page has been scrubbed from the agency\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn a statement, Glastonbury chief Emily Eavis said: \u201cWe are appalled by the statements made from the West Holts stage by Bob Vylan yesterday. Their chants very much crossed a line and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech or incitement to violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn a statement on Instagram, Bobby Vylan said his phone was \u201cbuzzing non-stop\u201d with messages of \u201csupport and hatred\u201d after the performance. He appeared to stand by what was said on stage, writing that it was important to teach children to campaign for the \u201cright thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn a message captioned \u201cI said what I said,\u201d Vylan continued: \u201cLet them see us marching in the streets, campaigning on ground level, organising online and shouting about it on any and every stage that we are offered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe BBC has also come under heavy criticism, <a data-id=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/06\/bbc-glastonbury-bob-vylan-hate-speech-1236445550\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/06\/bbc-glastonbury-bob-vylan-hate-speech-1236445550\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">including from Prime Minister Keir Starmer<\/a>, for streaming Bob Vylan\u2019s set on iPlayer. In a statement on Monday, the UK broadcaster said it <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/06\/bbc-regrets-not-pulling-bob-vylan-glastonbury-set-idf-chants-1236445622\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/06\/bbc-regrets-not-pulling-bob-vylan-glastonbury-set-idf-chants-1236445622\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regretted the decision to carry the Glastonbury set live. <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cThe BBC respects freedom of expression but stands firmly against incitement to violence. The antisemitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves,\u201d the BBC said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe BBC went on to say that \u201cthe team were dealing with a live situation but with hindsight we should have pulled the stream during the performance,\u201d adding: \u201cWe regret this did not happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBob Vylan\u2019s set slipped the net amid the BBC\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/06\/bbc-kneecap-glastonbury-coverage-plans-confirmed-1236445159\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> laser focus on a different act, Kneecap.<\/a> The Irish hip-hop trio, which played shortly after Bob Vylan on the same stage, were not shown live over hate speech fears, but it was Bob Vylan that ended up causing the most controversy.
