(WTVY) &#8211; Houston County has another case of raccoon rabies, the second of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Alabama Department of Public Health confirmed a raccoon found along Hodgesville Road tested positive for the disease.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The raccoon fought with a resident\u2019s dog before it was taken for testing. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">No human exposure is believed to have occurred.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Alabama state law requires all dogs and cats three months of age and older to be vaccinated against rabies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In 2024, there was one rabid animal found in Houston County.
