She made it clear the fundraiser was not serious. \u201cThis is more of a joke than anything,\u201d Cunningham wrote. \u201cFor fines only or to a charity or for a yacht idk\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Soon after, she clarified where the donations would go. \u201cA yacht would be nice, but whatever we raise here will be going directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities. I\u2019ll take care of my own fines. Y\u2019all are the best,\u201d she said. Minnesota head coach Cheryl Reeve was fined after storming onto the court to confront officials following an injury to Napheesa Collier.<\/p>\n<p>After the Lynx season ended, Collier, who serves as vice president of the players union, took her frustrations directly to commissioner Cathy Engelbert. \u201cWe have the best league in the world. We have the best fans in the world. But we have the worst leadership in the world,\u201d Collier said. \u201cYear after year, the only thing that remains consistent is the lack of accountability from our leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collier also criticized Engelbert for allegedly saying <a class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/genesis\/caitlin-clark-says-collier-made-valid-points-and-commissioner-engelbert-hasn-t-contacted-her-101759431823489.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Caitlin Clark\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Caitlin Clark<\/a> \u201cshould be grateful\u201d for playing in the league and added, \u201cOnly the losers complain about the refs.\u201d She argued that leadership was hiding behind the term \u201csustainability\u201d instead of addressing officiating problems. \u201cWhat is truly unsustainable is keeping a good product on the floor while allowing officials to lose control of games. Fans see it every night\u2026 Yet leadership just issues fines and looks the other way. They ignore the issues that everyone inside the game is begging to be fixed. That is negligence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> Commissioner\u2019s response<\/p>\n<p>Engelbert issued a statement after Collier\u2019s remarks. \u201cI have the utmost respect for Napheesa Collier and for all the players in the WNBA. Together we have all worked tirelessly to transform this league.
