Unfortunately, it isn\u2019t that easy \u2015 but there are some things you can do to bolster your odds.<\/p>\n<p>\u2033If you want to live longer, improve what you\u2019re eating and start moving your body more,<strong>\u201d<\/strong> said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/about.kaiserpermanente.org\/health-and-wellness\/recipes\/contributors\/dr-linda-shiue\" target=\"_blank\" data-skimlinks-tracking=\"7949949\" data-affiliate=\"true\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dr. Linda Shiue<\/a>, an internist and director of culinary and lifestyle medicine at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>But knowing exactly which foods to eat for a longer life can be tricky. Shiue says that while no one needs to be perfect, it\u2019s important to fill up on \u201cfoods in their natural state, like whole grains, vegetables, fruits, fish, eggs and nuts.\u201d By doing so, she said, we replace the \u201cultra-processed foods\u201d in our diets, \u201csuch as shelf-stable foods that have refined carbs and high sugars, like white bread.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But even when we know which foods are good for us, it can be hard to figure out the right balance of healthy options that give us a better chance of living longer \u2015 and hard to find sweets that are good for us when the craving strikes.<\/p>\n<p>We asked three top longevity experts what\u2019s in their grocery carts.
